The Hemophilia Society of Surat was established for the benefit of hemophilia patients, so that necessary programs such as free blood tests, inhibitor tests, etc., are conducted periodically for patients. Patients are also provided with school kits and raincoats, as well as gifts. Awareness programs for hemophilia are conducted. CMEs are organized for doctors also to raise awareness about hemophilia, where expert doctors provide necessary guidance on hemophilia. Arrangements are made to provide facilities for patients in their city and arrangements are made in Navsari, Bharuch, and Valsad for patient care, and camps are also organized there periodically for physiotherapy for patients. The organization’s members also undertake the task of bringing the voices of patients suffering from neglect or difficulties in care to the attention of the government. The organization also celebrates various festivals such as Diwali, August 15, and January 26.” In case of emergencies, society member helps patients and their family members to coordinate with the medical fraternity to boost their morale.
